Simply Astonished At The Value Of This Blog !

by Mike Sigers on July 30, 2006

I haven’t done this in a long time, but while reading a new blog ( for me anyway) today, I saw this valuator that’s powered by Technorati.

I’m completely flabbergasted at the value they place on my simple little blog.

My blog is worth $50,244.06.
How much is your blog worth?

Does anybody else think their blog is way overvalued ?

Can anybody give me a better way to evaluate the worth ?

I’m thinking of letting go of a blog, maybe two, to pay in advance some of the college expenses for 2 of my daughters.

If you know of anybody who’s looking for a blog or two, have ‘em take a look at our network page and shoot me an email.

I wouldn’t be counting too much on that value yet, according to Sootle your website is worth only $1572. I suspect its somewhere in between hopefully the upper range :-)

Hey Greg - That’s a big difference of opinion between the two !

I like the Technorati method a LOT better, but I will check out Sootle.

Thanks for coming by and for taking time to comment.

I use Pingoat’s assessment tool and my blog is worth a measily $145 bucks but considering it was worth $9 when I added that feature three weeks ago, I’m doing something right and am pleased. Chad H.

PS - Good post about getting busiensses to use blogs more. I work in the B2B industry and it will be interesting to see how things go. I’ve seen some do well, some falter and some do well but the company falters.

Thanks Chad.

There are many valid reasons for a company to utilize a blog and I’m sure there are some companies that should not, BUT if they sell a product or have a service that the public at-large can use, they should be blogging.

Blogging, BTW, doesn’t necessarily mean a diary type of posting ritual, but a chronological look at their product/service and how they evolve and make it better, more usable, more effective, etc.
