Simplenomics Versus Pearsonified

Shanksville - Where Bloggers Play Golf

Here’s the way it happened. I did a series of posts on one of my other blogs, Travelling Golfer. The series had to do with Kentucky Derby Week, where to play golf, where to eat, where to play. One of my friends, Chris Pearson, of Pearsonified fame and fortune, said he’d love to play a round of golf with me on one of the most challenging courses in Metro Louisville. I accepted the proposal and we set the date, which was today.

Here’s some of the other facts. It rained VERY, VERY hard last night. All night. It was cart path only and it was sloshy. Chris and I don’t like wet, sloppy golf courses.

It was windy. VERY, VERY windy. Weather.com said there was 15 MPH winds with gusts to 25 MPH. That’s tough on a long ( 7034 yards ), wet golf course.

Chris had not played since around September of last year. He was a tad rusty and I took advantage of him. And liked it. I hope to do it again sometime.

What we shot on that LONG, WET, WINDY golf course is not the big deal here. The fact that I won by 5 strokes is the only thing that matters. The only thing.

Go by and visit Chris and send your condolences. Send him some sympathy and some loot. I may make him pay next time. Me letting him watch me has to be cheaper than golf lessons.

Here’s some props for my VERY STRONG, young friend :

He smashes the golf ball a long way. A LONG WAY.

He had not played in a long time. He’ll play better and be a bigger threat next time.

He’s a great guy to play golf with. We had a blast !

He bought dinner..and we didn’t even bet on it. He’s just a great guy.

There’s nothing bad I could find to say about him. Doesn’t smoke, curse ( not much anyway ) or drink while playing golf. Clean living is his game. When I’m old and broken down, he’ll be whuppin’ my butt ’cause he’s in such great shape and lives clean.

I’m 6’2″ AND 250 lbs. and he’s way bigger than me. Looked like an NFL linebacker in golf shorts. Don’t go over there talking ugly to him, he’s too big to mess with.

I’m looking forward to playing him again on a shorter, dryer, narrower course. That will be more to my advantage and I’ll massacre him. Let it be written, let it be done.
