Rockin’ Citizen Marketing by National Guard

Citizen Soldier

Have you been to a movie lately and seen the promo by the National Guard ?

If not, prepare to be rocked by Three Doors Down and Citizen Soldier.

I’ve been twice in the last 7 days, Hitman and August Rush and both times I got the extreme pleasure of being as entertained by this promo as by the movie.

Three Doors Down, who also rocked my world with Kryptonite, one of my all-time favorite songs, was a great choice for this song and if I weren’t almost 45 ( January ‘08 ) and if I hadn’t already done my 6 years, I’d be down at a recruiter tomorrow signing up for duty.

The National Guard has come up with the best recruiting tool I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching military marketing since the day I joined in January of ‘81.

Army Strong was good, this is better.

This is real citizen marketing, by real citizens, to real citizens, for real citizens.

That was good and a great idea to put it in movie theaters. Considering I rarely go to the movies that’s why I had never seen it. I’m glad my time is over too though. I didn’t take orders very well when I was a 19 year old seaman and I’ve only gotten worse (about taking orders) with age.

I took orders like everybody else, Robert, I liked some and hated others … a lot like today !

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment.

    Mike,

I seen the NG promo and liked it right away. I think I’m going to head down to the recruiting office first thing Monday to sign up! Not really, but believe for a moment I did think about it and as an independent thinker, that really surprised me so the promo must of been good - real good. The 3 doors song is still very popular with 20-somethings and the perfect tune for the promo. Maybe I’ll hire the creator to produce a promo for my industrial supply auction site to get more orders.

If you can get the creators to work for you, let me know, and I’ll hire ‘em too !

    Thanks for stopping by Dom.
