Do You Need A 50 Cent Celebration?

by Mike Sigers

Sunset Over Kentucky Lake

Have you ever taken time to celebrate a small victory with a small celebration?

I have. I do it all the time and I thought I was the only one who did it … til I read this post by Perry Marshall.

I’m a salesman, as you might be.

I’m on the road … a lot … just like you might be.

The road will beat you up and there’s nobody there to give you a hug.

So when you make a sale, even a small one, while you’re still on the road, find a way to have a 50 cent celebration.

One of my 50 cent celebrations actually costs about 84 cents. It’s a can of Root Beer.

Yeah, yeah. Laugh if you want to, but after a decade or two of travelling around and selling, you gotta find a new motivation every now and then.

I personally have several little things that I’ll give myself after a small victory … such as a sale.

I’ll allow myself to drive by one of my favorite views at Kentucky Lake, like the one above this post. That’s a sunset over a barge.

I’ll buy myself some new golf socks.

I’ll grab 2 chili dogs from my favorite hot dog stand.

Whatever it is, you gotta have something to look forward to or you’ll end up with the road eatin’ your lunch instead of you having lunch on the road.

So here’s three things to do:

  1. Find your 50 cent celebration and write it down.
  2. Read the post I linked to above.
  3. Tell us in the comment section what your 50 cent celebration’s gonna be.
