Do You Have A Question About Using Premium WordPress Themes ?

March 18, 2008 · Filed Under Blogging Simplified, Teleseminars · 2 Comments

RevolutionPremium WordPress themes are much more professional and profitable than free themes.

There, I said it and I believe it and I’ve been saying it for a long time.

I’m also holding a teleseminar with Brian Gardner, of Revolution fame, to prove it.

Free theme creators support their themes in their spare time and, most of the time, very sparingly.

Premium theme creators support their themes in a professional way.

Free theme creators get tired of the emails and comments and slowly stop upgrading and tweaking.

Premium theme creators are, basically, paid to support and refine their work, so they do a great job and love doing it.

Are those blanket statements fair or gospel ? No.

Are they the norm ? Yes.

Do you have a question about the Revolution series of Premium themes ?

Do you have a question for Brian Gardner ?

Do you have a question about what using a Premium WordPress theme can and will do for your blog and your status as a blogger ?

Click thru and Ask Brian Gardner any question you have and we’ll get as many as we can answered on March 25th at 10 PM Eastern, 9 PM Central and 7 PM Pacific time.

You’ll be able to phone in or use a web player to listen thru your computer. Your choice because we want as many live participants as possible. I’m not sure if Brian will release the replay for free or use it as part of his marketing.

Ask now or forever hold your peace.

We use one of the many styles of Revolution on “several” of our blogs. I hope to have it here soon, but I’ve been waiting for the WordPress upgrade noise to shallow out a tad.

What Do Cadillac And FeedDemon Not Have In Common ?

October 21, 2007 · Filed Under Advertising Simplified, Blogging Simplified · 4 Comments

Caddilac

There’s not many commercials that do anything at all for me anymore.

I watch little TV, except for a few selected sporting events and Survivor. Don’t ask, because I don’t know why I watch it, but I do.

Watching a little football a few minutes ago, I actually stayed there on FOX, I think, and watched a new, I guess, commercial from Cadillac.

After extolling all the virtues of the new Cadillac, the woman speaking ended with this gem:

” All that really matters is this: When you turn your car on, does it return the favor ? “

That is absolutely the best tagline I’ve heard in years and all of us who sell physical products, scratch that, a product of any kind should be reaching for that exact destination.

Why ? Because.

If your product turns your customers on, they’ll tell 10 people, who’ll tell 10 people and so on.

It also works in reverse.

My feed reader, FeedDemon, used to turn me on, but of late it’s been all jazzed up about wanting me to resubscribe to the online version, which is free, just to remain synchronized.

Synchronized ? It’s a paid for product, it shouldn’t need to synchronize with a free web-based app. That’s total nonsense and having to sit and delete feeds for an hour after it got unsynchronized was a pain in my ass and I’m delighted to tell everybody that it sucks when your time is wasted for a stupid reason.

FeedDemon doesn’t turn me on anymore. They owe me an hour.

I want it back.

I Jumped On The BlogRush Train !

BlogRush WidgetJust in case you don’t hang around the “internet marketing” circle as much as I do, I wanted to show you what John Reese has exploded on the blogging scene.

Over in the right-hand sidebar is a widget for BlogRush, a syndicator.

Basically, for every page view this blog shows, I get credit on another widget, in a category I chose, on another blog in the system.

And for everyone who signs up after clicking thru from my widget, I get a credit for each of their page views.

So if 10 marketing or sales blogs signup after using my widget or link to sign up, I could potentially get thousands of readers.

I’m willing to give it a try and I hope you will too.

I’ll definitely let you know if my visits, viewers or page views skyrocket, but for now, it’s almost a no-lose situation worth trying.

So try it.

I Want Candy - The Mantra Of Today’s Website Visitors

August 26, 2007 · Filed Under Blogging Simplified · 5 Comments

Bow Wow WowBack in the Big 80’s, pop culture icons Bow Wow Wow screamed “I want candy !”.

Today, website visitors are screaming the same thing. They want candy. They want free samples. They want a little taste.

Several bloggers in my RSS feed reader are already giving them a free, downloadable sample.

For instance, David Meerman Scott gives away a free ebook, titled The new rules of PR: How to create a press release strategy for reaching buyers directly.

Seth Godin’s latest free ebook is called Flipping The Funnel.

Mike Stelzner gives away a sample chapter of his book, Writing White Papers.

Thom Singer lets you take a free Networking Quotient.

Rich Brooks and the gang over at Flyte Blog give away articles and advice.

Brian Clark, over at Copyblogger, started by giving away Viral Copy and now he has over 21,000 RSS subscribers.

I’m sure I could have found a few more, but you get the point. You need to have a free, downloadable sample of your work handy for those first time visitors.

Do you want over 20k RSS subscribers ? Give it away.

Want to see your free ebook downloaded over 250K times ? Give it away.

Want to have book publishers slobberknockin’ over your next novel ? Give it away.

Want to find a co-author for your next project ? Give it away.

If you have another example of candy you’re giving away that I wasn’t aware of, feel free to link to it in the comments and give it away.

Weekend Link Lust In Quotable Form

Links Be A Good Thang

I caught up on my reading today, by reading the last 4 issues of USA Today, our local newspaper and a couple of magazines.

Somewhere in those four days worth of local newspapers, I read a comic strip called Get Fuzzy.

I adapted this quote from a line I read and you can feel free to use it, steal it, adapt it or ignore it. Your choice.

” Feed me food and I exist. Feed me links and I live ! “

If that’s not a bloggers creedo, feel free to enlighten me as to what is.

Have at it.

If you need help getting your first ( or next ) infoproduct out of you, drop by and let James Roche help you help yourself.

Many, many thanks to James for allowing me to pick his brain for the readers here at Simplenomics.

Blogs That Make Me Think

June 28, 2007 · Filed Under Blogging Simplified · Comment

five

The famous, or soon-to-be famous meme highlighting 5 Blogs That Make Me Think has found it’s way to me via one of the blogs I would have linked to had he not been the one that got me first.

My good blog friend Tony D. Clark always makes me laugh with his illustrations, amazes me with his skills and then has the audacity to write meaningful content. What nerve !

So as not to linger longer, here’s 5 Blogs That Make Me Think, out of the 100+ that ping my thinker:

Self Help Daily - This blog, if you’ll subscribe to the RSS feed and really listen to it for a few weeks, will run the gamut of things that make you think.

And I know the author well ;-)

Some Assembly Required - Thom Singer gives away as much actionable strategy each and every week as anyone out there. His ideas are simple, you know I like that, easy to implement, yet very profound.

How’s that Thom ? Did I earn that 5 spot ? ;-)

Michael Masterson’s Blog - The blog of the King Daddy of Early To Rise is always interesting and for those of us who’re a bit ADD, it’s about a different subject each post.

If you don’t subscribe to Early To Rise, you should.

Hot Points - The blog of the Big Kahuna from Go Daddy is a must read.. We have 50 -100 domains registered with them and have always had good service.

Bob’s not been as prolific of late, but sometime’s he goes on a rip and it’s all you can do to keep up with his giant brain.

Matt Cutts - Not only is the Bad Boy of Google Bloggers a fellow Kentuckian, he’s a great read.

I can’t stand some of the comments, because I can’t understand some of their stances, but his info, advice, warnings and opinions make it easy to know what to do, what not to do and what you wish you could do…but can’t.

I don’t really expect the last three guys in that lineup to jump on board, but at least 4 of these 5 are new to some of you.

Don’t be afraid to subscribe to their RSS feeds and give them 30 days to win your approval.

Stretch yourself a bit and see if you can’t grow into a new, improved and better you.
