Blogtipping Day At Simplenomics

by Mike Sigers

In case you haven’t noticed the sweet little badge over on my right sidebar that says, ” I Love Blogtipping “, this would be a great time to click it and see where it takes you.

Today is Blogtipping Day and I intend to tip you off towards some great reads, so here we go :

First I want you to take a ride over to Out of Bounds and read one of the few purely entertaining posts that my wife has ever written. Most of the time she’s educating, enlightening and all that other good stuff, but this post about Bubba was pure Kentucky gold !

Next, how about we go over and see if Paul Chaney is ready to debut his ” Blogs For Good ” network yet. If he’s not quite ready, bookmark him and keep going back til he is.

Third, since Blogtipping normally comes in threes, is a blog done by a new blog friend, James Brausch.

James is very technical, very research oriented and produces some software that could help your blogging life. His posts that deal with website promotion and webmastering are very detailed and very educational. The only flaw he has is an ugly shirt ! Looks like a Tommy Bahama I once had. My wife probably gave it to Goodwill and James may have bought it there !

It’s not a Tommy Bahama.

Where did you get this one:

I got that one off eBay. It is a Tommy Bahama, embroidered on the back, coconut buttons, etc. I was wearing it at Bob Silber’s Internet Marketing Seminar in the Florida Keys. That photo is from the testimonials.

While I lived on Pensacola Beach and visited the Keys, I wore only Tommy tops and some shorts and loafers….that’s still my goal, to wear loafers, no socks, a silk shirt and some shorts every single day.

Hope the post sends you a few hundred visitors, you deserve it, as your blog is one of the purest, most educational ones out there, as far as internet marketing goes.

Hi Mike,

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. As you know, your blog is one of my “must read” every day too.

Just having a little fun with you since you seemed to be in that mood. :)

I actually wore nothing but hawaiian shirts and shorts for the first couple years of my freedom. I also visited the Caribbean three or four times a year for the first couple of years (still do at least yearly).

My favorite island is Grand Cayman with Jamaica being a close 2nd. St. Thomas has this one little lagoon with rising cliffs on three sides that give you shade on the beach. I love that one spot in St. Thomas as well. The Bahamas are another favorite in that area… and Costa Rica if you want to get off the islands is awesome.

I’m actually letting my Tommy Bahamas (all custom sized and monogrammed… so I’ll bust you if you pick up any of my shirts at Deseret Industries which is our local Goodwill kinda store) wear out now.

I haven’t bought a new one in about 8 months since I moved high into the Utah mountains. I’ve been resisting it… but I think I need to switch to cowboy boots, wranglers and plaid shirts. I already have my Stetson hat. Oh well… I had my Tommy Bahama days and enjoyed them.

James, my friend, I’m just glad you weren’t offended by my using that ” trigger phrase “, which guaranteed that people would click thru to your blog.

You know they had to see the shirt !

Thanks for being a good sport and let’s see a new picture of you in a cowboy outfit !

Looking forward to more good info on your blog, which I look forward to every post.

Take care.

Hey Mike,

I must be getting rusty. My wife noticed what you were doing before I did. When I read your post to her, she instantly said… “Now everyone is going to be visiting just to see the shirt.”

She’s pretty sharp. Me… not always.

Thanks again bud! You know where to find me if you need anything (under that awful non-Tommy Bahama bird of paradise shirt).

Hope to meet the better half, along with you, someday, James.

BTW – It wasn’t awful, I’ve got SEVERAL that are a lot worse…it just happened to be a convenient thang to use for a trigger.

I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night.

Thanks for that great set of links. I just met Liz Strauss two weeks ago in our interview, and she sang your praises. Now I see why, between your good eye for new blogs and smooth layout.

I love your blurb-style blogroll too, makes surfing your site so much easier. I’ll be back!

Cheers,
Jason Boog

That’s ironic, Jason…I just visited your blog not 15 minutes ago from a link on Liz’s blog.

Too cool !

Come back and see us and thanks for the comment.
